Luxury Roof Terrace Meets Whirlpool

On the roof terrace of a new-build home in Sa Vinyola, between Campos and the coast at Sa Ràpita, a Relax whirlpool from the Lifestyle Collection was set down by mobile crane — lifted from the street, clear of the building, straight onto the terrace. Filled, that spa weighs around 1.575 kg, which is why the lift and the load were settled long before the delivery date.

Project Overview

The house stands in a recent development on the edge of Sa Vinyola, a quiet residential pocket in the municipality of Campos, minutes from the beach at Sa Ràpita. Its top level is a wide tiled roof terrace with a lounge corner and an open view over the village — sun all day, and nobody looking in.

The owner wanted the whirlpool up there rather than in the garden. That one decision turns a straightforward delivery into a logistics question: a Relax measures 204 × 204 cm, weighs about 275 kg empty and roughly 1.575 kg once it is filled — before anyone steps in.

It began with a visit to the property. A few days later the owner came to our warehouse in Llucmajor, where the models stand ready — not on a trade-fair floor, but by appointment and behind closed doors, with the time to look properly. There we went through the range side by side: the footprint against the free corner of the terrace, the height against the parapet, the number of seats and loungers, the position of the control panel, and above all the finish.

The terrace was already there, and it is a considered piece of design: large-format pale tiles, crisp white render, warm timber in the louvred screens, a lounge set in sand tones. The spa had to belong to all that rather than stand in the corner like a machine. Together we chose the Relax, with a pearl-toned shell and a weathered-wood cabinet with a grey accent band — the same timber tone as the decking and the low table. That decision was made standing beside the actual unit in the warehouse, not from a photograph in a brochure. The warehouse visit was on a Friday; by the following Thursday the Relax stood on the roof terrace — inside five working days, straight from our own stock in Llucmajor.

We supplied a Relax from the Lifestyle Collection: three seats, two loungers, 40 jets, LED and perimeter lighting, ozone water care and a thermal cover. It was lifted onto the terrace with a mobile crane with more reach than our standard 15 m crane, then positioned, connected and commissioned the same day.

Preparation & Installation

A roof terrace changes the order of the work. Two things had to be clear before a date was fixed: whether the crane could reach the terrace from the street, and how power would get up there. The owner’s electrician brought a certified supply to the terrace with its own breaker and RCD; we connect at the whirlpool itself.

There is no carrying a 275 kg shell up a staircase, and nothing about the house was to be opened up or taken apart. So the whirlpool went over the top: the truck set up in the street, the unit was wrapped and strapped, lifted clear of the hedge and the building, and lowered onto the terrace under guidance from the roof.

Reach is what decides this kind of job. A standard 15 m crane has to stand too close to place a load this far in and this high, so we booked a larger mobile crane. That let the whole lift happen from the street in one go, without blocking the neighbours longer than necessary.

The owner received a Relax from the Lifestyle Collection, complete and ready to use: 204 × 204 × 85 cm, three seats and two loungers, 40 jets on a 3 HP pump, LED and perimeter lighting, ozone water care and a fitted thermal cover. 1.300 litres, around 275 kg empty.

The route to it was short and deliberate: a visit to the property, a session in our warehouse in Llucmajor where the models stand side by side, the choice made there against the finish of the terrace, and a lift planned around the one thing that could not be improvised — getting 1.575 kg of filled spa onto a roof terrace. Delivered, placed, filled, balanced and handed over on a single day.

A Rooftop Spa with the Village in View

The Relax now stands in the corner of the terrace against the parapet, with the lounge set beside it. The terrace was already finished in large-format tiles, so nothing had to be built, cut or made good — the spa simply stands on the floor that was already there, and the cover closes over it when it is not in use.

THE BRIEF

The Challenge & What We Delivered

A whirlpool on a roof terrace is not a heavier version of a garden installation — it is a different job. The weight when filled, the reach of the crane and the power supply all have to be answered before an order is placed, because none of them can be solved on the day itself.
